Gage Michael Holmes,

Age 20, of Cohee Road, Versailles, passed away with injuries from an automobile accident early Saturday morning, January 13, 2024, near the Shaffer Road and Brown Road intersection in Versailles, Ohio.  He was born January 15, 2003, in Richmond, Indiana.  Surviving are his parents, Cheryl L. (North) & Anthony M. Gehret of Versailles and Phillip Joseph Holmes of Winchester, IN; grandparents: John North of Winchester, IN, Phillip & Charlene Holmes of Union City, IN, Madonna Gehret of Versailles and great-grandmother, Marilyn Kolp of Winchester, IN; one brother, Dustin & Shanna Holmes of Union City, IN; nieces and nephews, Amelia, Evelyn and Samuel Holmes; God-daughter, Sadie May as well as numerous uncles, aunts and cousins.  He was preceded in death by grandparents, Linda North and Anthony J. Gehret.

Mr. Holmes was a 2021 graduate of Versailles High School where he had been active in FFA.  He was employed at Custom Foam Products Inc. in Fort Loramie and had previously been a mechanic at A L Smith Trucking Inc. in Versailles.  Gage enjoyed helping with farming for several local farmers and was especially fond of his animals.  He also enjoyed fishing, hunting, playing cards, and an occasional target shooting match.

Memorial Services will be held at 10:30 AM, Thursday, January 18, 2024, at Gehret Funeral Home in Fort Loramie with Deacon Gregg Elking presiding.  Committal services will follow at Greenlawn Cemetery in Versailles.  Family and friends may call Wednesday, 3:00 to 7:00 PM and Thursday 9:00 to 10:00 AM at Gehret Funeral Home.  Memorials may be made to Darke County Parks or charities of choice.  Private condolences may be expressed at gehretfuneralhome.com.
