Dolores T. (Hartings) Schulze,
Age 89, formerly of Bergman Road, Yorkshire, passed away peacefully of natural causes Wednesday morning, April 2, 2025, at The Gardens of St. Henry, in St. Henry, Ohio. She had been a resident for nearly four years. She was born January 18, 1936, in St. Rose, Ohio, to the late Lawrence & Leona (Hemmelgarn) Hartings. On January 26, 1957, at St. Rose Catholic Church in St. Rose, Dolores married Walter F. Schulze who preceded her in death on July 30, 2012. Surviving are five children: John & Patricia Schulze of Fort Loramie, Rosann & Don Droesch of Maria Stein, Angela & Guy DeMange of Yorkshire, Anita & Tony Knapke of Greenville and Michael & Sandra Schulze of Yorkshire; 21 grandchildren and 36 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Rosemary (& Linus) Lefeld of St. Henry and Janice (& Tom) Grieshop of Franklin; two brothers, Rich Hartings of St. Marys and Ron (& Karen) Hartings of St. Rose; several sisters & brothers-in-law: Rosemary Hartings of St. Rose, Frank & Ginny Mohlman of Coldwater, Mary Lou Schulze of St. Henry and Victor & Judy Schulze of McCartyville along with numerous nieces & nephews. She was preceded in death by one brother, Wilbert Hartings; two sisters, Eileen (& Erwin) Schulze, Norma Mohlman and sisters & brothers-in-law: Linda Hartings, Alvin & Delores Schulze, Elmer Schulze, Linus & Bernadette Schulze, Margaret & Albert Dircksen, Leander & Rita Schulze and Wilbert Schulze.
Mrs. Schulze was a dedicated homemaker and farm wife. She was a member of St. Nicholas Catholic Church where she had been a Rosary volunteer. She also belonged to St. Barbara Ladies Sodality and the Minster Eagles Auxiliary. Dolores loved music. She could play the organ and accordion. In her youth, she would play for weddings and dances. She also enjoyed polka dancing. Dolores was an avid card and board game player.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:30 AM, Tuesday, April 8, 2025, at St. Nicholas Church in Osgood with Rev. Stephen Jones presiding. Interment will follow at St. Martin Cemetery. Family and friends may call Monday, 3:00 to 8:00 PM and Tuesday 9:00 to 10:00 AM at Gehret Funeral Home in Fort Loramie. Memorials may be made to the St. Peter Neurological Center in Burkettsville or charities of choice. Private condolences may be expressed at the gehretfuneralhome.com website.
