Carol Jean (Kruse) Paul,

Age 78, of New Bremen, passed away of natural causes Monday afternoon, September 6, 2021, at Vancrest of St. Marys in St. Marys, Ohio. She was born January 18, 1943, in Lima, Ohio, to the late Adrian & Dorothy (Thuman) Kruse. On August 22, 1964, at St. Peter’s Church in New Bremen, Carol married Kenneth H. Paul who preceded her in death on September 27, 2005. Surviving are three children, Janice & Michael Flaute of New Bremen, Beverly & Mark Schrolucke of New Knoxville and Michael Paul of Wapakoneta; eight of nine grandchildren: Andrea Flaute, Matthew Flaute, Emily Flaute & fiancé Sawyer Williams, Zachary Flaute, Nathan Schrolucke (dec.), Renee Schrolucke & fiancé Nick Topp, Lauren Schrolucke, Brandon Paul and Tyler Paul; one brother, Larry & Karen Kruse of New Knoxville and sisters & brothers-in-law: Dottie Kruse of Wapakonetta, Joan Paul of New Bremen and Allen & Mary Paul of New Bremen as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by one brother, Ronald Kruse, a brother-in-law, David Paul and father & mother-in-law, Karl & Olga Paul.

Carol was a 1961 graduate of Anna High School. In 2006, she retired from Heritage Manor Nursing Center in Minster where she had been employed 20 years. She previously worked at the former Fisher Cheese Co. in Wapakoneta. She was a member of St. Peter’s Church where she had been active in Lay Life in Work ministries and also taught Sunday School. Years ago, she was active in the New Bremen Band Boosters. In her leisure, Carol enjoyed harness racing, playing cards and bingo.

Funeral Services will be 10:30 AM, Saturday, September 11, 2021, at St. Peter’s Church in New Bremen with Pastor Ed Rinehart presiding. Interment will follow at German Protestant Cemetery. Friends may call Friday 4:00 to 8:00 PM at Gehret Funeral Home in Fort Loramie and Saturday 9:30 to 10:30 AM at the church.
